Celebrate Women's Equality Day: Guest Appearance by the Flume Ensemble (In Center & Online)

Friday, August 26, 2022
1:00 pm2:30 pm

Since 1971, Women’s Equality Day has been celebrated annually on August 26. The celebration falls on the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment which granted women the right to vote. Women’s Equality Day is a symbol of women’s continued fight for equal rights.

This year RSS celebrates this important day by presenting a concert by the Flume Ensemble. The concert will focus on songs about and written and composed by women. RSS member Jane House will start our event off by telling us more about the history and importance of Women's Equality Day.

If you've heard the Flume Ensemble, you will definitely want to be there. If you've NEVER heard of the Flume Ensemble, you are in for a treat. Here's a link to one of the many concerts they have done for RSS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4U1QRYeoM8&t=1122s
