Inspired by and based on the museum's previous physical exhibit, which is now virtual, Frederick Douglass: Agitator takes a virtual tour of the American Writers Museum. You will learn about the legacy and enduring impact of Frederick Douglass, as well as other abolitionists who came before Douglass and the impact they had on him, and the writers who were influenced by Douglass and carried his activism forward.

The American Writers Museum’s permanent exhibits take visitors on a journey through the American story, from the perspective of the writers. You will be introduced to great writing in all genres, illustrating how writing influences our history and culture and spotlighting the beauty and visceral impact of great writing.
