NYC has a vast collection of public art throughout its five boroughs. While only relatively few of them honor historic women, many of the permanent Public Artworks were created by women, beginning with Emma Stebbin's Angel of Waters in Central Park. Women sculptors created many monumental works, including equestrian statues, war memorials and abstract sculptures.
The lecture is led by Sylvia Laudien-Meo.
