Led by April Lombardi (lecture and workshop)

What You Receive at this Fundraiser
RSS needs your support to continue our robust schedule of programs and events and expand our support services! Join us for an exciting online fundraising event that starts with an art history lecture followed by a drawing lesson based on van Gogh's techniques with April Lombardi; the class is limited to 24 participants and suitable for all levels of experience.
There is so much to explore in the work of Vincent van Gogh! In a previous fundraiser, you were able to see how location influenced his work as we followed his footsteps to the many places he lived and worked. This time the art lecture will focus up close on van Gogh's painting and drawing techniques, and you will see works that van Gogh said were inspiring to him.
Please also sign up for the workshop that follows the lecture. Every artist needs a great set of paintbrushes! You will be sent a special set of watercolor brushes to use in the art lesson as a thank-you gift from RSS. You will need to have your own watercolors and paper to participate in this lesson fully. April will guide you in using your new brushes to create a van Gogh-style watercolor painting, and you will learn techniques that you can employ in your future drawings and watercolor paintings.
Many of you may already know April Lombardi and have already experienced her fun, free online art classes sponsored weekly by RSS. This fundraiser drawing lesson will be different than her usual class format, with the opportunity for more individualized attention with enrollment limited to 24. April is an expert in the field of art education and art history, her 45-year career in art includes over 27 years of teaching drawing, painting, digital media graphics, and Advanced Placement Art History at LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, near Lincoln Center.
Please note: We cannot guarantee on-time delivery of materials for the class after July 15.
All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
