 l\n\nEat\, Darling\, Eat (www.EatDarlingEat.net) is a multicultural collec
tion of original stories\, by and about mothers and daughters (or the moth
er figure in your life)\, each with a connection to something that's share
d in all heritages\, all generations: FOOD. The stories are not about perf
ect cooking (or perfect families)\, but food as the prism for exploring re
lationships\, personalities\, and experiences. It shows so much about who
we are and how we got here.\n\nAt this workshop we will write these storie
s - you can do them as first-person narratives or in poetry. Your story ca
n be about a specific anecdote\, like the 'magical thinking' of a mother a
nd daughter baking brownies to protect a son/brother at war. Or\, your sto
ry might be about immigration\, family history\, a wonderful (or not so wo
nderful!) memory associated with food. \n\nThe stories told in these colle
 ctions represent Asian\, Indian\, African-American\, Jewish\, and other cu
ltures. And the entire collection has been selected for the Women's and Ge
nder Archive at the U.S. Library of Congress.\n\nAt this workshop\, you wi
ll write about your own mother/daughter story about food\, memories\, rela
 tionships\, and life. \n
