Computer Training, Virtual Programs Coordinator


RSS, a nonprofit agency that serves older adults and their families in the Northwest Bronx and beyond, seeks a Virtual Programs Coordinator to help train and support older adults in the use of technology. The work also includes helping to run our extensive virtual program offering which reaches people across the country.


  • Knowledge of a variety of computer equipment (computers, smartphones, and tablets) - PC and Apple
  • Some experience with training people to use technology is preferred. Excellent customer service and computer skills.
  • Strong organizational skills are a must. Tech-savvy - familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets, Zoom, Word
  • Interest or experience in promotion and communications
  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus
  • Experience working with older adults is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment

 Position Details

  • Train older adults in the usage of technology (computers, smartphones, and tablets). This includes group training, one-to-one training and support during the classes. Support may be in person, online or over the phone.
  • Create training materials as warranted.
  • Help to facilitate online/hybrid meetings
  • Help to coordinate the administrative aspects of virtual/hybrid programs including participant registration, event listings, reminders and zoom meeting coordination
  • Work with the rest of the marketing team to develop and implement campaigns/materials to promote the program/s. Create and promote events using RSS website database. Update website calendar weekly

Part-Time: 21 hours a week, flexible schedule.
Salary: $25 an hour

Bilingual Community Engagement Coordinator

RSS, a nonprofit agency that serves older adults and their families in the Northwest Bronx seeks a Community Engagement Coordinator to engage community stakeholders, including residents, organizations, service providers, faith communities, and businesses.  The work revolves around health inequities presented by at-risk populations.


  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • A degree in Social Work or related field LMSW preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in community outreach work particularly working with marginalized or at-risk communities
  • Experience working with older adults preferred
  • Knowledge of benefits and entitlements
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment


Position Details

  • Works in the community to develop networks, partnerships, and relationships, and collaborative efforts across diverse communities to provide new opportunities for mission-specific projects.
  • Promotes the organization's mission
  • Manages reporting requirements for project-specific grants
  • Maintains working knowledge of the community, and existing conditions, trends, activities, and policies that affect the community.
  • Conducts and/or assists in conducting and analysis of community surveys and needs assessments
  • Assists in the analysis of program evaluation, strategic planning, and development of the program
  • Prepares required documents and reports
  • Identifies potential grant opportunities addressing health and socio-economic needs. May participate in writing grant proposals as assigned. 
  • Attends outreach events in collaboration with other community organizations to promote RSS and mission-specific projects.
  • Outreach Activities to identify and recruit older adults likely to benefit from programs and services provided by community organizations.
  • Provides direct services and education around benefits and entitlements
  • Provides information and referral services
  • May provide or assist in case assistance 
  • Responsible for related documentation
  • Other duties as required.
