Have you ever wanted to write a screenplay? NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Bring a notepad, writing implement, and your ideas!

Learn the art, craft, and business of writing for film and television. Covering format, story structure, character development, plot, dialogue, and how to pitch, as well as tricks of the trade.

The class starts on Friday, December 13 and will be held every other week. Each session is 90 minutes long

Your teacher is Bruce McKenna. Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Bruce McKenna began his career working in production on such movies and TV shows as SCTV, Follow That Bird, and Mafia Princess, while writing on the side. Bruce continued to write spec scripts as he worked his way up from prop maker to production designer. In the early nineties, his writing took off when he sold three feature scripts and was hired for a number of TV shows. Development deals and uncredited rewrites followed. His script Salt Water Moose, won the Directors Guild of America (DGA) award for best children’s program. Bruce has taught numerous courses on screenwriting. For several years, he ran a workshop for writers, actors and directors. He is currently developing a TV action series around a female private investigator.

The class is free to any one 60+. Each session is 90 minutes long.
