Once upon a time in 1600s Dutch New York, the neighborhood of Harlem — then known as "New Haarlem" — was considered nothing more than a sleepy suburb made up of farms and rolling hills. But after a major battle during the Revolutionary War, the rise of New York City, and the Great Migration, the once quiet enclave would quickly evolve into one of the country's most bustling neighborhoods. It's time to virtually uncover the sights and stories through a sliver of the neighborhood — one which represents Harlem's transformation into one of the greatest cultural meccas in the world.

Join New York Adventure Club for a curated virtual stroll through Harlem — with the help of Google Earth, this digital experience will take us along a specific route that's a microcosm for the neighborhood's 400-year transformation from a Dutch settlement to cultural powerhouse.

Led by NYC Tour Guide Deborah Zelcer, our unique experience through the neighborhood — which contains some of New York City's most unique and beautiful historic row houses.
