X-WR-CALDESC:These days\, it can be worthwhile to create an online space to
connect with ideas of family history for enjoyment of learning and a sens
e of personal continuity.\n\nGenealogy Basics gives beginner or intermedia
te family history researchers the tools and approaches to work online and
get a better and more satisfying experience knowing what free resources ar
e out there\, and how a librarian can help them if they have questions as
they go. We share anecdotes and tips from our own experiences and ask part
icipants to share and encourage each other and ask preliminary questions.
We can cover any or all sides of the Jewish Diaspora\, East or West (Mizra
hi and/or Ashkenazi\, etc.)\n\nThe Center for Jewish History in New York C
ity illuminates history\, culture\, and heritage. The Center provides a co
llaborative home for five partner organizations: American Jewish Historica
 l Society\, American Sephardi Federation\, Leo Baeck Institute\, Yeshiva U
niversity Museum\, and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research.\n\nThere will a
lso be an advanced genealogy course later in January.\n\n
